Yesteryears'
actress Asha Parekh will be a key part of Nasir Hussain's biography launch with
his nephew Aamir Khan at the JIO MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star.
Asha Parekh was
muse to Bollywood's icon filmmaker Nasir Hussain for many decades. They
collaborated on films like Teesri Manzil, Dil Deke Dekho, Jab Pyar Kisise Hota
Hai and Caravan, and the actress will now make a rare public appearance when
Nasir Hussain's biography will be launched at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival
With Star at PVR Icon.
The event will see
Nasir Hussain's family including nephew Aamir Khan, wife Kiran Rao, cousin
Nuzhat and grand-nephew Imran Khan--- and Asha will share the stage with them.
Asha's professional
equation with Nasir Hussain was reportedly followed by a personal relationship.
Incidentally, it is
the 50th year of Nasir Hussain produced Teesri Manzil which was one of Asha's
most memorable films.
Salim Khan played
a pivotal part of a drummer in Teesri Manzil. Will he grace the occasion? Let's
wait and watch.
The book titled
Music, Masti, Modernity- The Cinema of Nasir Hussain is written by Akshay
Manwani and the launch will be followed by a panel discussion about Nasir
Hussain's cinema and how it has shaped generations of directors. The moderator
for the panel will be author and documentary filmmaker Nasreen Munni Kabir. Read more
