Cat S32 rugged phone: IP68 rating for dust and water protection- 4200mAh Non-Removable Battery

Cat is a brand known for its manufacturing and heavy-duty machines and equipment and has been producing CAT smartphones for many years now. The most recent addition to Cat's rugged smartphone portfolio is the Cat S32.

At CES 2020, CAT introduced the rugged CAT S32 handset. It features an IP68-rated design and passed reliability and endurance tests on the MIL-STD-810G.

Features of Cat S32 rugged phone

• The Cat S32 smartphone was launched on 7 January 2020. The phone comes with a touchscreen 5.50-inch display with 720x1440 pixels resolution and 18: 9 aspect ratios.
• A MediaTek Helio A20 quad-core processor powers the Cat S32. It has 3 GB of RAM. The Cat S32 is running Android 10 and is powered by a non-removable 4200mAh battery. Cat S32 supports proprietary fast charging.
• As far as cameras are concerned, the Cat S32 at the rear features a 13-megapixel camera with an aperture of f / 2.0. The rear camera system has autofocus for phase detection. For the selfie, it sports a 5-megapixel sensor at the front.
• The Android 10 based Cat S32 has 32 GB of inbuilt storage that can be extended via microSD card (up to 1298 GB) with dedicated slots. The Cat S32 is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts nano-SIM and nano-SIM cards.
• Powering the S32 is the quad-core chipest of the MediaTek Helio A20 paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. While it is not very impressive on paper, with a 4,200 mAh battery, it will probably give at least two days of battery life. It supports VoLTE speed and Wi-Fi in CAT 6 LTE. All standard equipment is Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Finally, a 13MP camera at the rear and a 5MP selfie camera.
• Cat S32 connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, NFC, USB OTG, Micro-USB, FM radio, 3G and 4G with both SIM cards, 4G activated. The sensors of the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and magnetometer/compass. 

If you are looking for a powerful processor with a massive edge-to-edge display, you will not find it here. The company focuses on battery reliability and performance at a reasonable price for extreme environments. For example, there is a 5.5-inch 720p display with an 18: Dragon Trail Pro Glass that protects 9 aspect ratio and this display. The phone can be operated with wet fingers or while wearing gloves.

It has an IP68 rating for protection from dust and water. The smartphone's body is rated for IP68 water resistance (1.5 m to 35 min), and conforms to MIL-SPEC 810G for shocks and vibration-drop tested on steel from 1.8 m. The housing has a rubberized material that provides an excellent grip, and you will never have to throw it in a case. A customizable key is on the left side that can be useful for push-to-talk applications.
