As
of January 2020, Coolpad Legacy 5G is the cheapest 5G in the world. On 7
January 2020, the Coolpad Legacy 5 G smartphone was launched. The phone comes
with a 6.53-inch touch screen display.
You
may not have often heard of the Coolpad, but the brand may have unveiled the
affordable 5G phone yet to be available in the US. The Coolpad Legacy 5G will
cost under $400 when it launches in this year's Q2, and you'll be able to get
Coolpad's own site, Amazon and one of the other US retailers.
The
phone is powered by Snapdragon 765G and supports sub 6GHz 5G, which means that
it should work on T-Mobile and AT & T's networks. This flavor of 5G is not
as fast as mmWave, but it does not suffer from its coverage limitations either.
It
comes with a large 6.53-inch full HD display, with a 16-megapixel selfie camera
at the top and a thicker bottom bezel. It has two 48-megapixel and 8-megapixel
wide-angle lens cameras on the back, and a fingerprint sensor — and this rear
panel is made of plastic, not metal.
Another
compromise concerns the efficiency of the device. Instead of a hot high-end
CPU, the Coolpad is a Snapdragon 7250 chip powering the Legacy 5G. You will
also get 4 GB RAM and 64 GB onboard storage, microSD support, 4000 mAh battery,
Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C connectivity and 3.5 mm headphone jack. So as of now, it’s
a bang for the buck deal.
- An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor powers the Coolpad Legacy 5G. The chipset is paired with 64GB of storage with 4GB of RAM and UFS 2.1. For more storage, there is also a MicroSD slot. Even better is that the phone Android 10 will come out of the box.
- Coolpad Legacy 5G is running Android 10 and is powered by a non-removable 4000mAh battery. Coolpad Legacy 5 G supports fast charging with Quick Charge 3.0.
- As far as the cameras are concerned, the Coolpad Legacy 5G on the rear is a 48-megapixel primary camera and another 8-megapixel camera. The rear camera setup has phase detection autofocus. It offers a 16-megapixel camera at the front for selfies — no word on the video recording.
- The Coolpad Legacy 5G features a 6.53 "IPS screen supporting the HDR10. The 16MP selfie camera features a teardrop notch. This camera supports Face unlock; there is also a fingerprint reader at the back.
- Coolpad Legacy 5G based on Android 10 and 64 GB inbuilt storage pack that can be extended via microSD card (up to 128 GB).
- Connectivity options on the Coolpad Legacy 5G include Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n and USB Type-C. The phone's sensors include accelerometer, compass/magnetometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and fingerprint sensor.
- It bears a plastic body.
- Note: Remember that this is a single sim phone. It can work with CDMA networks that support the Sprint band so that you won't lose connection to the city. Bluetooth 5.0 is on board, though Wi-Fi 6 and NFC are not.
