Madhubala Was Born on Valentine's Day

The original name of beauty Madhubala was Mumtaz Jahan Begum Dehlavi. She was born on Valentine’s Day 14th February 1933 in Delhi. This 1950s and 60s were very popular and famous Indian actress. Many times, her performance in front of beauty was also overlooked. She was known for her beauty, self-hood personality and mushy portrayals of tragic women.

His parents' name was Ataullah Khan and Ayesha Begum. His father used to work in the Imperial Tobacco Company in Peshawar but after his job loss, he brought his family from Delhi to Bombay. Madhubala's family suffered physical, mental and financial difficulties. Madhubala's three sisters and two brothers died at the age of five and six years. The Bombay docks explosion took place on 14 April 1944, in which a small house of Madhubala was burnt to ashes, with the grace of God, his  family survived. At that time his family went to a local theater to see the film.


Madhubala was the fifth child of her parents, due to which her sibling used to call her as Majali Apa. She started to search job with her six sisters to run her family's livelihood. Madhubala continued to circling the Bombay film studio and one day it came that this beautiful Madhubala got to act in her debut film 'Basant' as a child actor at the age of 9. Madhubala was very fond of learning the language but for some reasons, she did not learn. She used to speak Urdu and Hindi at home but could not even speak a word of English.
Madhubala learned driving at the age of twelve and She loved to drive a long car.
In 2008 India issued a postage stamp featuring her image.

Madhubala was engaged to the legendary actor Dilip Kumar but her father wasn't happy with it. Madhubala left Dilip Sahab soon after and subsequently, married Kishore Kumar.

In 1942 'Basant' film made a huge amount at the box office and became the highest-grossing Indian movie of that time. Acting in 1945 film, Dhanna Bhagat. Acting in Phulwari, Rajputani films in 1946. Phulwari was the third highest grossing movie of that year. Madhubala performs with Raj Kapoor in the lead role for the first time in 1947 in film 'Neel Kamal'.

Actress Devika Rani was very impressed by the performance and ability of Madhubala and advised her to keep screen name "Madhubala", which literally means "honey of belle". Neel Kamal was the last film in which she had to act as Mumtaz.

In 1949, the film 'Mahal' transformed Madhubala into a superstar. It was India's first reincarnation thriller film and this film also established Lata Mangeshkar as a major playback singer.

Madhubala's Death Cause
During the shooting of 'Bahut Din Huwe' in Madras in 1954, Madhubala came to know about her illness that she has a hole in her heart. Due to her illness, she could not establish herself in the acting world, and in 1969, she started her directorial debut at Film 'Furze' and 'Ishq'. The film was never made, because, during her pre-production, she died on 23 February 1969 immediately after his 36th birthday. The cause of her death was given to lung and heart disease. Madhubala was buried in Juhu Muslim Cemetery in Santa Cruz, Mumbai. Dilip Kumar did not attend Madhubala's last rites, he did not know that he was invited.
