Tips and tricks to apply liquid lipsticks
Liquid lipsticks are
having a moment right now. It's one of the most coveted beauty products right
now. Odds are that you will find at least one liquid lipstick in a make-up
lover's bag. Why are they better? They are long-lasting and offer intense
colour, unlike the traditional lipsticks. They glide easily and only require
one coat to get that rich look. However, applying this lipstick needs patience.
If you love wearing liquid lip colour, then here are five rules you must follow
to make the most of it:
2.
It requires time
The liquid lipstick can't
be applied in 5 seconds. It requires patience and a mirror too. It's not
something you can apply in the car. It can give you an improper outliner and
will easily smear. So, never apply the lipstick in a hurry, give it some time
to get a proper outline and finish.
3.
You need to apply make-up too!
As liquid lipsticks are
highly pigmented, you can't go bare face. You need to balance out the look with
a make-up base with foundation, so it doesn't look weird. To complement such
strong lip colours, you can go for a matching blush on cheeks too!
4.
Don't over apply the lipstick
With such lipsticks, one
swipe is enough! To avoid extra pigmentation, you can remove the extra lipstick
on the wand before applying it. This way, you can get an even texture and more
control over the application. That said, if you want a dramatic look, you can
add more coats to get that look!
5.
Exfoliate and moisturise
If you have chapped lips,
you must exfoliate your lips before to get a clean canvas. Also, make sure you
hydrate. Apply the balm over the lip line and let it be for some time. Later, if
you feel your lipstick is making your lips feel 'too tight', you can apply one
coat of chapstick to moisturise.
6.
Precision is the key
You can apply the lipstick
first at the bottom lip and then press your lips together. Next, shape your
cupid's bow, with the applicator or using a lip brush. For darker shades, you
can use a lip liner later and shape your lips well.
