India's first "National Museum of Indian Cinema" inaugurated by our Prime minister Narendra Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Indian Cinema Museum (NMIC) in Mumbai on Saturday. He said that the film is a medium which can be silently influenced, the people's thinking process and can contribute to bringing great social change in the country along with enhancing the development of the country.

"How's the josh," the PM asked the audience 'Uri' style as he inaugurated India's first National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) here. He said without the viewers even realising it, films change their thinking process, as movies and society are "reflections" of each other.

The PM said that the country is changing and the solution for its problems is also finding its own solutions.

"The country is changing and finding its own solutions. If there are a million problems, there are also a billion solutions," the PM said.



Modi lauded the Indian cinema and said that movies help in integrating people, helping to create employment opportunities, promote tourism in a big way, and thus in the process of nation building a lot of contribution.

"Films are identified with social changes... They have the knack to catch the future developments. Films help integrate our people who speak hundreds of different languages and thousands of dialects, the vastly diverse cultures, boost tourism in a big way and help generate employment opportunities, thus contributing immensely to the nation-building process," Modi said.

Indian films represent their country and have their influence in many countries. Thereby helping to improve the image of the country at its global level.

"Films also create hopes and aspirations among the people all over the country... Now, youngsters hailing from smaller towns or Tier II-III cities are emerging in a big way and creating waves in the film industry. Our strength is now coming out of such small places. This is a sign of changing times and society, problems are being portrayed along with solutions, obstacles are being removed, millions problems have billion solutions. We are not overawed by problems, but work to resolve them... That's the determination of New India," Modi said.

During the inauguration, others including Asha Bhosle, AR Rahman, Jitendra, Randhir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar and others were in the limelight among celebrities of Indian cinema. Addressing Indian cinema, he said that the film educated to the people and fill an excitement among the people to do something for our country. Even Indian serials (television serials) are also encouraging foreign countries to learn the culture of 'kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi' and 'Ramayana'.

Apart from this, he said that many filmmakers have made films giving many social messages like "Toilets". And it has tried to make people aware, as well as integrate science and development, films and theater and other aspects of modern times.

Asured the full support of the government to the film industry. Talk about setting up a university for movies and entertainment.

PM also said to filmmakers to change the laws to deal with various challenges, including piracy.

"A single-window system for obtaining permissions for film shoots and related matters are on the anvil," he said.

Like the World Economic Forum summit in Davos, there could be a global film summit in India, the prime minister suggested.

"Films also play a big role in the growth of the tourism sector, which gives employment to even the poorest people, even 'chaiwala' makes money when tourism grows," he said.
